Coach Kelly Meenan
Varsity Coach
My name is Kelly Meenan and I will be the new head coach of the Peters Township field hockey program! I have been an assistant coach here at Peters for the past 5 years and I am excited to transition to the new role of head coach. For a little background of myself, I am from Lancaster County, PA where I first picked up a field hockey stick at 11 years old. I was a three sport athlete in high school playing soccer, field hockey and winter track. I decided to stick with field hockey in college and played 4 years at Messiah University. During my time there, I was a 3 year starter, 2 time All Conference and 1 time All Region recipient. We won the MAC Conference championship all 4 years and made it to the NCAA Division III Final Four and Championship games.
After graduating with a social work degree I married my husband, Brian Meenan. We lived in Upstate, NY while he completed his doctorate degree in chiropractic. After he graduated, we moved back to the Pittsburgh area. Brian has since opened up his own practice called Premier Chiropractic with locations in Mt Lebanon and McMurray. We live in South Fayette with our two boys Beckam (2 years old) and Brooks (5 months old) and our two labs Tucker and Ryder.
I am extremely passionate about field hockey and began coaching in 2017 at the Peters Middle School program. In 2018 I moved up to the high school program and have been there ever since. I have a lot of love for this sport and my goal for the program is to teach the girls how to both work hard and have fun enjoying the sport that means so much to me!

Coach Tiana Swierski
JV Coach
I started playing the sport in Lewisburg, PA in 7th grade when I decided to switch from soccer. I immediately clicked with the sport and fell in love with it. I was one of 2 7th graders to make the 8th grade team. Once I got to high school and played varsity I began to take the sport more seriously and played in the Futures program as well as the Keystone State Games in the summer.
Unfortunately my sophomore year of high school I moved to Arizona where the sport doesn’t exist. Going into my senior year I decided I wanted to play again and moved to Maryland where I graduated from Hammond High School in 2018 and got to play field hockey again.
Once my high school season was over I decided I wasn’t done playing and went to some tournaments in Florida with random club teams. I was lucky enough to get recruited by Washington and Jefferson College where I played from 2018-2021. During my time at W&J we won the Empire 8 conference and proceeded to play in the sweet 16s of the DIII NCAA tournament. My last season I was co-captain and then graduated a semester early in December 2021.
I’m excited to get the opportunity to share the sport I love and teach the younger girls more about the game. Field hockey has brought me so many friendships and memories and I’m hoping to make a positive impact as a coach at Peters Township.
