PETERS TOWNSHIP Youth Recreation

Welcoming players K-6

The PTYFH club was established in 2010 to get field hockey sticks in the hands of Peters Township girls as early as possible.  The PTHS field hockey team was started in 2005 and at that time the girls picked up their field hockey sticks for the first time in ninth grade.

The goal of the youth program is to teach the basic fundamentals of the game of field hockey.  Our program focuses on having fun, learning the skills of the game, and playing as a team.   We play other youth programs in the area.  Then our players move on to a much faster-paced Middle School team.  This is where our girls learn higher level skills, develop game tactics, and compete against teams in the WPIAL that they will also play in HS.
